February 19, 2015

NEW YORK, Feb. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Voya Financial, Inc. (NYSE: VOYA), announced today that Jean Weng has been named senior vice president, deputy general counsel, and corporate secretary. In this role, she will work closely with Voya Financial's board members, provide advice and counsel to management, and guide the company's corporate governance efforts. Weng will continue to report to Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer Bridget M. Healy.

"I am very pleased to have Jean as our new corporate secretary," said Healy. "Having her in this important role significantly deepens our bench strength, particularly in the areas of general corporate law, securities and capital markets work, and corporate governance. I'm confident she will be a valuable member of the team and prove to be a valued resource for Voya Financial, our senior leadership team, and the board."

Weng joined Voya Financial in September 2014 as deputy general counsel and assistant secretary. She began her legal career in 2002, working first as an associate, and then as counsel, in the capital markets group at Davis Polk. During Weng's tenure in private practice, she focused on corporate governance issues and capital markets transactions for financial institutions in the U.S., Canada, China, and Brazil.

Weng attended The Juilliard School in New York and holds an M.A. degree in musicology from Columbia University. She also received a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. In 2014, the New York Times Magazine recognized Weng as a "Rising Star" among "Top Women Attorneys in New York."
